Wheel Throwing Taster Class

Have you ever watched someone creating on the pottery wheel and thought to yourself “I’d love to try that to see what it is like”, but don’t want to commit to an extended course?
This is your chance to get muddy, creative and have fun.
In this 2 hour taster class you will have the opportunity to try your hand at the fundamentals of throwing, experience the way you work with the clay and guide it into a form. We provide you with everything you need including clay, tools, equipment and glaze.
On the day, you will aim to make a small pot and select the glaze colour you would like applied to your piece. After your class, if it is needed, we will carefully trim your pot for you when it is ready – it can take a few days to reach this stage depending on weather. We will then dry your pot and fire it, apply your glaze and fire it a final time making it waterproof. We will email you when it is time collect your beautiful handmade pot.
Experience: Beginner (Anyone aged 14 and over is welcome to join but students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.)
When: Classes are run Sunday afternoons between 1:30pm – 3:30pm.
Class size: 3 people max.
What to wear: Flat, closed toe shoes are essential. Wear comfortable clothes that can get a little dirty. Clay washes out easily so you won’t ruin your clothes.
